DU Result Problems and UFM Cases Solution

In this video, we will discuss about the problems faced by DU SOL students regarding their 1st, 3rd, and 5th semester results. We will specifically discuss issues where students have been marked “Absent” or have ER (Essential Repeat) or have UFM (Unfair means) cases on them.

Main Problems: Absent/ER and UFM Cases

Many DU SOL students have reported that their results incorrectly show them as “Absent.” Due to this, they have ER or F grades, which causes 1st and 5th semester students to lose an entire academic year.

In addition to this, some students have been caught doing cheating in exams and have pending UFM cases on them. Due to this issue, students can be punished with many penalties including cancellation of exam results.

Delhi University Response and Student Action

DU is observing these issues faced by the students and has provided a process for students to appeal. Those students who have faced these problems can do the following:

1. Submit an Application: You can make an application telling your issue in that. Along with this application you can attach your marksheet and hall ticket and submit it to exam center of DU.
2. Check Online Updates: Before submitting any application to the exam center, always check your result online as corrections could be made by DU.
3. Vising the Examination Branch: Visiting the examination branch is last option. In case your result is not updated even after a month, you should visit the North campus exam center and request to speak directly with the authority person.
4. Be Patient: DU has said that there are many students affected from these result issues. Therefore, they are requesting students to be patient and updates can take 15 days to over 2 months.

UFM Cases Solution and Penalties

Those students who have UFM cases under their name, Delhi University issues a notice for them. Students need to act according to that notice and they also need to visit the UFM section to discuss about their case.

Penalties for UFM cases are determined on the bases of two clauses as follows:

1. Clause A: Under this clause, students need to reappear for their exam in which they have been caught doing cheating as the exam is considered cancelled.
2. Clause B: Under this clause, all the exams of the student for the current semester are cancelled. It is considered a very big punishment and you should always avoid being punished in this clause.

The only solution for UFM Cases is that you should request DU officials to not give heavy punishment. If they insist, you should always request them to be punished under Clause A.
