Why the Withdrawal Option Is Not Showing on Portal

Third round of DU CSAS phase 3 is currently going on and students are worried about the withdrawal option as it is not showing on the portal. Let’s talk about this in detail like why it is happening and what you can do from your side.

DU CSAS 2025 Round 3: Withdrawal Option Disappears, Students Concerned

This week, the most asked questions by students and teachers was, why withdrawal option is not showing on the DU CSAS portal for the round 3. Many student’s and their family’s lakhs of money is stuck and they are worried about this.

The main reason for withdrawal is that many students wants to change their preferred college or course with next rounds or also utilize the option of mid entry system.

The Real Reason: Why the Withdrawal Option Is Disabled

Whenever there is change in any round due to upgradation, new allotment, or round result, DU disables the withdrawal option. This is not a technical glitch, but it is done deliberately in for system stability.

Till the time any round’s result or allotment process happens, the permission of withdrawal is not given so that the number of seats and stats remains right.

The time round process ends, DU will resume the withdrawal option. So, there is no need to be worried, as DU has deliberately disabled the withdrawal system for for now.

Mid-Entry Aspirants: Know the Risks Before Withdrawing

The main reason for withdrawal is the desire to enter in the mid entry, specially those students who are not satisfied with their current seat or college.

The data tells that previous year in 2024, there were more than 22,000 students who applied for mid entry. As seats were low, due to this the cut off increased at that time. The option of mid entry comes with risk, and there is no guarantee to get a seat always.

I would recommend you not to take withdrawal on peer pressure or anybody’s advice. Do your own research and take your own decision. Sometimes, what happens is that students withdraw their current seat in order for better seat, but gets neither.

Parent and Student Confusion

In the third round, admission process starts to get stable but in this time students gets the most nervous. Many students wants to change their choices due to which competition and instability rises.

In this year, in comparison to first round, more than 6,500 studens have got admission in the third round. It simply means in the consequent round, grabbing a seat will be tough.

  • Think Before Withdrawing: Mid-entry is highly competitive, with very limited success rates.
  • Avoid Panic: The portal functions as per process design; don’t fall for rumors or unofficial guidance.
  • Check Official Updates: Always rely on DU’s official notices and channels for the latest information.
  • Value Your Allotted Seat: Many students who already have a seat regret leaving it due to later instability.

  1. My daughter was allotted seat in one college after second round and same was requested for upgrade. The seat was not upgraded when checked on the date of declaration. At that time withdraw admission was showing. After a day and a half when I tried to withdraw admission for refund the CSAS portal window was showing withdraw window closed.

    • I understand your problem. DU CSAS portal keeps the withdrawal option open only for a short time after each round. Once it closes, it can’t be done online. Now you need to contact your allotted college and the DU CSAS helpdesk as soon as possible to explain your case and request help with withdrawal and refund.

        • My earlier reply was focused on what steps you should take after the withdrawal window closes, so it may sound a bit different from the article. By ‘explain your case,’ I mean clearly share your daughter’s details and what happened so officials can understand. The exact refund depends on DU’s policy, so the allotted college or CSAS helpdesk can confirm the amount.

  2. My daughter has got a seat in Round 1, Upgraded in Round 2, Upgraded in Upgrade Round. But now in Round 3, it is still showing the Upgrade round result. Not showing any upgrade or details for Round 3. Under the CSAS Round 3 table, her name is there but the list is blank. No earlier college list, cut off, etc. Is it yet to be updated or it means there is no upgrade? Also, in the main list, it still gives option of cancel admission and freeze seat. Does that mean if we don’t freeze now we will be out of DU? Or will it be considered for upgrade to Spot round? Any idea?

    • If it’s still showing the Upgrade Round result and the Round 3 table is blank, it usually means there’s no new upgrade for this round, or the portal hasn’t updated yet. Keep checking just in case it’s still being processed.

The “Cancel Admission” and “Freeze Seat” buttons mean the current seat is still yours. If you’re happy with it, freeze it to confirm. If you want to wait for spot rounds or any further upgrades, don’t freeze — but make sure you accept it before the deadline, or you could lose the seat altogether.
